Yes, the Chinese and Russians copied, or rather, reverse engineered quite a few American and other allied equipment. They had a couple of B-29s that were interned before Russia entered the war with Japan and made copies of them. The copies were so close, that parts would interchange. Since I'm sure several M-37s were captured by the North Koreans, they probably ended up in Chinese hands.
