I concur w/ R Davis. The old WWII Dodges were not designed for passenger comfort or to handle today's traffic. Yes, you can swap the drivetrain and add things but that takes money and lots of time - ask Dave P. (Midnight Engineering) about his blown SBC 350 M-37 w/ power windows, disc brakes and power steering!
If you sold the truck for something more economical you can save towards an old PW as a toy on the side. Get the PW registered as an antique and your ins will be under $100 a year - which has mileage and use restrictions. Check your own state for specific limitations.
