About a year and a half ago I spotted a 1960's model W-500 wrecker truck in a small town between Syracuse and Utica New York. At the time I commuted weekly between my home in Milford N.H. and my job in Hamburg N.Y. . Every week I would stop, without my wifes knowledge, and fantasize and drool over this beauty. Unfortunately I waited too long and someone else has her.
Does anyone know of this truck and whatever became of it? It was white and had the old boom style wrecker body on the back. There was also a winch unit on the front. The owner at the time told me that the wrecker was not original. His son had replaced a water tank that had been on the truck when he bought it in the Carolinas.
I hope that she fell into good hands and found a worthy home. Perhaps it is with someone who visits this forum.
