All automatics have "integral" bellhousings - the trans and bellhousing are a single casting. theoretically it could be welded, particularly if the broken off piece is small and not a major part of the structural integrity of the housing. If it is a major part of it, you need a new transmission. An opportunity to change to a 5 speed - you'd need a new flywheel, bellhousing, clutch and trans.
