Howdy!

Just curious on the transmission problems. They must have done some changes to the automatic transmissions a few years back. I have a lot of Dodge trucks on my farm, all mid to late 1970's models and have owned them for many years without any transmission problems from the automatics or manuals. Each are worked hard and are usually overloaded when I use them. I have a 77 Ramcharger that I bought many years ago with less than 50,000 miles on it, and now it has 207,500 miles on and I have never had any trans problems from the 727. I have towed many trailers with it and it doesnt have a external cooler! None of my trucks do. One of my '78's has 244,000 miles on the 225 engine and 727 trans and it has never been touched except for trans service every 20,000 miles. I also have a 73 that I am the 2nd owner of with 197,200 miles on the 318 and 727 now with absolutely no problems from the 727 on that either. I have many others that I have owned since they were just a coule of years old and have no major mechanical failures at all. Also people complain on the fulltime 4 wheel drive giving problems but on 20+ 4x4's on my place (all fulltime) my problems have been very scarce. I DO believe in keeping to a strict maintenance schedule though. I probably over service everything but it has given me many, many years of troublefree service. If their is a minor problem the truck is parked until fixed with factory parts if I can still get them. I hope for many more years too! A newer truck is not in my future at all. On the other hand I have a '80 GMC with a 454 and Turbo 400 that has 96,000 on and it is on the 2nd engine and 4th trans! So good luck! Hopefully it can be corrected to your satisfaction!

Ken
