I am assuming its juts like my 1974 D200. I goes from the inside cool/warm slider thru the firewall and to the heater control valve thats on the passenger side wheel well. Your heater hoses come off the front of the engine to this valve and then on into the heater core thats inside the cab. In the case of my 74 D200 the cable was broke and you had to manually open or close this control valve inside the engine compartment.
If you have no heat in the cab chances are

#1 your cable broke or come loose and the valve is closed
Open by hand or re attach cable

#2 Your valve is froze up in the closed position. Someone tried to force it and broke the cable
Replace valve. 45$
