First off, Dont get mad at her at all. Get on yer knees and thank the Lord you have a woman who would do such a good thing! So what if she ruined the underhood finish of the engine? The engine compartment will just get dirty anyhow...Remember, its the THOUGHT that counts. Infact, that is one reason I dont have a woman yet. I cant seem to find one that even has one ounce of appreciation for old trucks and such. Girls of my Generation are too dadgum prissy.....
Ok, now for your engine compartment. If you are still worried about it, I would just take a soap water soulution and LIGHTLY clean it with it, and just go thru and re-paint it and re-detail it.
