A very heavy duty unit. basically an NP 540 minus a gear here are the ratios from my post about htis tranny way down the page at the beginning of the forum:
dont have pics handy but the book says it is the same case as the 540 but minus the second gear of the 540 and the ratios are unique as well. came in the 400 500 and some 600 series trucks.
1st Gear 6.47-1
2nd gear 3.35-1
3rd gear 1.86-1
4th gear 1.00-1
rev.gear 6.86-1
