Rear spindal

I was replacing the rear seals in my 46 power wagon and when we tore down the drivers side hub we found that someone had been there before us and they destroyed the rear spindal putting it back together. I have grinded all the rivets out still cant get that spindale off. I have another rear end I was going to take a replacment spindal off of now I'm wondering would I be TIME ahead just to replace the rearend with that spare or keep trying to get the broken spindal off and then trying to get the replacment off without messing it up? I'm open to any suggestions
