I have have pulled my PWs for over 20K miles on a tag along trailer. It can be done safely. Do not get a cheap 10K trailer. it is not enough.

You need a 20" trailer unless you want that thing hanging over the end of the trailer. A 20' trailer allows you to adjust your tongue weight by moving the truck forward or back a little.

You should go a minimum 12,000 # trailer. Nothing less. You need 16" tires with 8 lug wheels at a minimum. Do not get a car trailer. The PW is not a car and weighs a lot more and needs a lot more trailer and brains behind the wheel to drive it. Also make sure that it is made out of large steel sections with plenty of cross braces. Also make sure that the frame that the ball hitch is welded to go all the way back to the axles with the flat deck welded to it really well. Also make sure that it has a solid bar across the front to stop the truck from coming forward if something lets loose. I would also suggest that that the trailer has a 4" square tube jack that is welded to the frame and cross braced. There is nothing worse than the jack bending over on you or breaking because it is a cheap little round thing that should only go on utility trailers.

Be sure you get a good brake controller. Do not go cheap on this as your life depends on it. Also brakes on both axles.

Here is a link to the trailer that I use. http://www.texasbraggtrailers.com/trailers/equipment/leo-equipment-trailer.htm
It is very solid. It is an equipment trailer not a car trailer. I got a very good buy on it as the dealer had it for awhile. You should be able to drive a good deal on most trailers in this economy.
