Jeff. Whatever you do, get a good brake controller. I attached the link to the one I have and seems to be popular with others.
Several years ago, I pulled a trailer about 600 miles with a car on it behind a 2000 Dodge Dakota. The truck pulled fine, up and down hills. On the way home, with the trailer empty, (fortunately), the right rear tire on the Dakota blew out. This resulted in my losing control of everything and rolling 1 1/4 times, totaling the Dakota. If I had had a controller, I probably would have prevented that happening. Thankful the trailer was empty. JH
