It's called a Positive Crankcase Ventilation VALVE for a reason.

Ought to be a plunger and spring inside. Plunger has a dinky hole in the point.

Try plugging the system as a whole first, just to eliminate the problem. Ought to work fine.

You can use rubber hose for 'adapters' to fit a 318 valve in there.

But I'll bet somebody has a spare for cheap. And somebody else knows the real name, Johnson Valve? with Peabody Piston? Original use was to vent the crankcase while underwater, for fording.
