Using geometry, they estimate that one of his blasts would have conservatively gone 630, and perhaps as much as 740 feet...
It makes the modern ballplayer hitting a 400 foot homer pretty lame, doesn't it? Especially since their were no steroids or weight training for people like Mantle.
