Dave I would not use starting fluid that way. It really gos off if a spark is near. I use Berk able 2+2 Carb cleaner for that stuff. Also even a good tight throttle shaft will pull that stuff in. If throttle is lose and sloppy it would not be stiff. Good luck. Bill.
