My 1946 WDX (truck # 984 out of Detroit) has worn out throttle shaft bushings. The truck will not start without either. Once started, it runs fine with 17 lbs. of vacuum, but top speed is about 35 mph. Carb was rebuilt by a large PW dealer in the midwest. I have a spare carb, but throttle shaft wiggles on it also. Was told that NAPA sells a bushing kit. Talked to a real knowledgeable sales guy there yesterday. He is new to this store. He regularly works at the NAPA truck store, but it burned down. , subscribes to Vintage Truck magazine, loves Power Wagons, etc. Anyawy, he tells me the bushings are swaged and there is no kit the average Joe can install. Says you have to send the throttle body away. What's the deal? Is there a kit? Anybody got a part number?
