I wonder if he washes off the steel parts of the truck like cab and frame with fresh water regularly?
I live a little north of you on the Bay in MD and I am always impressed by the power of salt water to corrode things.
I was down on the Outer Banks once and saw a display of several antique outboards in a shop. I asked the guy what was the deal?, he said they were all from the Great Lakes area; no coastal outboards from the 50's and 60's were around anymore...all eaten by salt water.
