Was pretty common on the 2wds, but somewhat rare on the 4wds. I have only seen one factory 1959 4wd (I think it was a special job, or a prototype), and a couple dozen factory 1960 4wds.

As for the numbers made, none of the literature I have ever seen breaks down production by anything other than Model (D100, W200, etc), Wheel Base, and Engine (V8 or 6 cyl).

Judging by what I have seen in my travels by 1960 the Sweptline bed was just as popular in the D100s as the Utiline (Step Side) bed, if not more popular in some areas.

I am sure Chrysler kept track of the number of each bed style, but that number has been lost in some internal memo or something for a long time. Nobody has ever come forward with a list of production numbers by body type, at least not that I have ever heard of.

If you are looking to buy a 1959-60 W100-W200 with a Sweptline bed contact me first, as there are a number of fakes out there. A little looking over of the truck will tell you if it is a factory Sweptline bed truck, or just one someone made.

Eric
