mine does the same the 48 if mine sits too long i just put a quarter inch of gas in a cup dump it down the carb choke it . i found the where the fuel line turns from steel to rubber it lets air in and fuel drains out .its on the suction side . for the starter part mine spins ok but i put in a tractor 6 v in with 950 cranking amps . i would check connections first ,sunday i was demonstrating a hay rake that i had for sale ,went to get the hay rake the tractor was a no start clean all the connections and everything looked good still no starter . I held the starter button down for 30 seconds and the negative cable started to smoke were the cable is joined into the terminal end at the battery ! so i went to pull the cable to see how tight is was in the terminal end . the wire came right out the terminal, wasnt a year old just to much cranking o r a shitty manufacturing job of the battery cable but who would think it looked good like new ~ Copey
