I think you should take the plug out and look at it. If its wet dry it off with a lighter or propane torch and see if it starts. I dont use the compression release at all but I can pull it pretty good. If your not getting enough rpm's pulling you might want to try the release. If it only really has two hours on it and has always been hard to start I would take it back. Mine always starts up on the 2/3 pull no mater the temp.
