Hi Keith
thanks for this post, I had/have a similar problem in my 06 F250 4x4 gas.
With me so far, that shop that put on my front tires did a horrible job a balancng them, The original tires did cup, and they sang loud going down the road, but the truck was smooth, The new tires (Chinese....) have, in my mind never really are balanced correctly. After my DW event, I wnet to a local NTW, (closest to where i was, as i was not going to drive the truck any further) They checked out the front end, all was tight, and rotated and rebalanced the tires. It made it 90% better, but there is still a samll vibration at 60 and above. Also i did get the DW one more time, but it is hare to blame the truck 100%, There is a section of freeway that is like driven down a railraod track, really shakes the hell out of the truck, the wobble got me once there.
I carry about 1500 lbs of tools all the time, in a tool box and loose in the back. I have noticed when i empty the truck for other uses it does seem better. I tow a car trailer, and the wieght is between 4000 and 10,000 depened on whats on it, And i do use equalization bars. The trailer does not change the way the truck handles too much.
My next step was a new, USA, set of tires and maybe a new dampner after reading yuor troubles,
Was your steering box cover under warrenty?
Thanks
Ernie
