That's good information, Keith. The dreaded DW is certainly more prone to the later coil spring suspension but even our '41 WC would do it and it was only good for about 50 MPH. =) A lot of guys seem to think it's only a 2 gen Dodges thing but you obviously know otherwise. The only time I have experienced it was on a 4 axle Mack. There had been issues with that truck and it just got out of the shop. I was asked specifically to take it, I guess becuase they trusted my judgment or something. They did not tell me what had been wrong with it. I loaded some real light stuff but still weighed about 70,000 lbs. The tag axle let loose @ about 20 MPH on a freeway git on. If I had not experienced it myself I am not sure I would have believed it could shake that heavy of a rig that hard. I nearly smacked my head into the side window it shook so violently. I even saw it start to wobble in the mirror and it was really slow until it all of sudden just let loose big time. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like @ freeway speed. I called the shop and they wanted me to go ahead and unload it but I lifted the tag to go the rest of the way and took the scenic route to get around the scale. =) I was not about to take a chance on having that happen again even though I was over weight on the front axle.
