I've finally been driving my '61 TWPW to work again. Just installed new injectors into the 4bt. Runs a lot smoother, but first tank only got 18.5 MPG. Really hoping to get closer to 30, but still adjusting stuff. The drive is 95% highway to work, with two state highways intersecting. Pulling onto the highway no one was approaching. Get into 5th gear, and there's a Land Rover Discovery right on my tail. The highway is two lane, that has a passing lane on the hill climbing side. The speed limit is 60 mph. There were a couple of tourists towing 5th wheelers. They moved over into the slow lane, Land rover still on my tail. Normally I would have moved over to let this guy pass. Something about riding my tail aggravated me, so I decided to pass the tourists first. The 4bt accelerated from 60 to 75 climbing a hill with little effort. EGT's never got over 700*. I pulled in front of the tow rigs and slowed to 60. The Land Rover passed, but not before slowing down to take a long look at the 49 year old truck able to cruise like that. Life is good
