Tim,

Be sure you are not filling the radiator too high into the neck. On my 82 chevy c30 ramp truck there is actually a mark or arrow on the passenger side of the radiator along the right side edge. It is a "fill to" mark and it is down on the side at least an inch below where the bottom of the top tank meets the top of the fins. If I fill the radiator above that mark, with exansion, it wants to seep out at the top of the fins where I have a minuscule leak. If I fill it only to the line, no leakage occurs and the temp is fine. Also, when I had my 61 WM300 Howe mini pumper, I has a habit of topping off the radiator into the neck, maybe only an inch below the cap. I would have no overheating issue, but would have spittle of antifreeze leaking past the cap. When I ran it a while and it stopped spittle-ing, then the antifreeze was down a little farther yet still covering the top of the fins and not more spittle issue. You may just need to try that andd a new radiator cap.
