Just takes a month but the paint will fall off in sheets. Bad part is you can not repaint as it impregnates silicon into the metal and any new paint applied will fisheye terribly.
Just kidding, it's great stuff and used it for years. Seems to out perform WD40 in my experience.
Doc Dave may be on to something as Kroil IS red in color so it may be ATF and kerosene. May have tomdo an experiment on that.......
