i have 4 balanced rims. took them to a heavy truck place. they had the tools to do a high speed balance. when a couple required huge lead in spots, they stopped & took the time to deflate the tire and rotate it. if you find a competent shop you can balance combat with ndts. you can also put balance beads in your tubes. work on the big rigs. they dynamically balance your rims. with regards to the debate, ive owned 2 dodges almost 20 years and have never had a problem with the splits or combats. properly cleaned and painted, they provide excellent service. splits and 'combat' style wheels have traveled billions of miles and i believe the problems are exaggerated. use your head. inflate chained or in a cage - use a remote inflater. better yet - find a good truck tire shop. its the best money you can spend. we own a trucking company, we have thousands of tires in service - we do NONE of our own tire work. some things are safer to outsource.
