Bending a casting- MU2 winch

As part of my winch rebuild, I see the cable drum bracket is bent a bit, from a previous owner's overload sitution.
This causes it to not match up well with the base angles.
I assume it is cast steel.
To bend it back straight on my 20 ton press, would the correct procedure be to heat it with a torch over its length and then bend carefully? Of course I know it could crack.
