Okay, I know where you are going with this.

My internet browser often rephrases the terms of a search. Did you mean, “What is the biggest trailer that somebody pulled SAFELY with a stock flat fender FFPW in compliance with all legal requirements?”

I think I see where you are going with this. You are trying to find the dumbest person who ever pulled a trailer so you can send it in to America's Funniest Videos? You try to loosen us up by telling us, “I have towed a loaded Ben Hur with my WCs and it was like it wasn't there.” So I’ll have some fun, too.

Now let’s check that out. What does “loaded” mean? What is the load capacity of a WWII one-ton cargo trailer specified in TM 9-2800? Did you exceed the load limit? (Was your Ben Hur really a Ben Hur or was it manufactured by any of the several dozen other companies that manufactured them?) Interestingly, TM 9-2800 doesn’t list towing capacities of the many different WC’s. Neither does TM 9-808 for my ¾ ton Dodge WC series trucks. I guess you know that information and you can decide who exceeded safety standards.

I knew you weren’t serious because your question does not give any of the information needed to give an answer. What are the circumstances? I have seen a stock WDX pulling a competition sled at a tractor pull. I have seen a highly modified FFPW do the same. Does “biggest trailer” mean overall dimensions or actual GVW of the trailer?

Obviously, other Forum visitors new you were having fun when you - and they - avoided legal and safety issues like the hitch. What hitch? What brakes? The brakes discussion is based more on personal opinions than it is on compliance with the law.

So let us know when you find your AFV candidate and we’ll laugh along with you.
