I have pulled up to M-35 truck weight with an M-37 on flat ground. I also pulled a loaded M-105 trailer with an M-43 ambulance on the road. I am sure the Ben Hur is appropriate for the WC, with 2000 lbs, no more. That is not the issue. The problem is brakes. Pulling 3300-3500 lbs with a loaded WC (7500 lbs) is like driving the same weight of CCKW, which has a geometrically better brake system than the WC. If you get onto a patch of bad road with gravel, or water, or oil, and are not driving perfectly with perfectly tuned brakes, you are going to get into trouble when you decide to stop. I got the heads up when I drove the M-43 with the M-105. At a well-used intersection with uneven pavement that was a bit slick with oil, the trailer went into the other lane and pulled the back of the ambulance a bit to the left as it pushed me into the intersection. I steered into the skid, which saved me, but got honked at by the station wagon full of kids who had right of way as they went by me a few inches away. To be completely safe, I think no more than 1000 lbs in a Ben-Hur with no more than 1000lbs in the back of the WC would be about right.
