Anyone know where I can find information about minimum angles of lifting cable?

At work we have some heavy lifting cranes (up to 150k lbs) and I see some really shady looking lifting cables that have no thimbles. They look kind of kinked and I want to bring it to the attention of someone and provide proper documentation. I searched around google and couldn't find much. I'm sure someone here knows what I mean and can at least give me the correct terminology so I can dig it up.
