Is this motor worn out?

The good news: oil pressure 45 psi hot at idle.
The bad news: compression 0, 50, 85, 40, 0, 65.

"0" means it didn't show anything on my gauge, which starts at 20 psi.

When it runs, it sounds bad, in a way that I'm not used to hearing, kind of rough and rattly, but doesn't exactly sound like it's missing. The plugs in the zero-compression cylinders are sooty but not wet. Not too bad on power, goes up a steep hill just fine in 1st gear, high range. Oh, this is a very civilianized 230 in a hacked-up M37.

I would say this is just a worn out old motor except the compression varies so much from one cylinder to the other, and the oil pressure is good. Hard to believe the rings would wear out so badly while the bearings are still tight. No obvious compression leaks. Oil is clean. Lost about a gallon of coolant over the winter, but it's leaking out the water pump and/or thermostat housing, so is probably not going into the cylinders or oil. Idle mixture screw has no effect, but that could be because I have to have the idle RPM turned up pretty high to keep it running.
