I put the Dodge NV4500 behind mine. I also have a getrag 360 in my first gen Dodge CTD. I like the Getrag much better as far as gear distance. I'm pretty sure the "problems" with the G360 were/are from folks towing too much in 5th gear. In your application it might work fine. Just add an extra qt of trans oil.
