This truck was originally owned by the Millville fire Department in New Jersey. I bought it from the second owner who volunteered for the fire department and I have owned it for 3 1/2 years. The truck has 24,976 original miles.
The truck was in really good condition but here are the things I have done to improve it:
* Completely restored the bed using 3/4 inch Brazilian cherry coated with spar varnish. New chrome spacers and mounting hardware. [off frame restoration]
* New bed bushings and bed to frame mounting hardware
* The bed sides and front panel have been worked on to prepare for final paint prep. The lift gate needs a little bit of work.
* New lift gate chains
* All 6 brackets holding he running boards have been replaced, including the wood spacers
* New rear wheel cylinders
* Added the rear hitch
* Added the spare tire bracket
* Added the halogen lights
* Added side view mirrors
* Added a single barrel carburetor with electric choke [I have the original carburetor system]
* Added a new steering column turn signal
* New front and rear bushings on the transfer case
* New rear running/brake/blinker lights
* New front read and left running/blinker lights
* New front right and left bumpers
Other positives:
* Everything works except the speedometer because the needle fell off (the odometer works)
* The truck starts, drives and stops well
* No rust to speak of
* The interior is in good shape (haven’t gotten to this part of the truck yet)
* All window mechanisms work
* The cab is in good shape, no rust, dents or dings
* The winch is original and works
* all gauges and interior lights work
* the windshield single wiper works
* the ignition system is 12 volt with a new battery
* the original heater works
* aftermarket gauges mounted under dash [oil pressure, water temp and amp]
