Actually, I bought some black polyurethane enamel at the boat supply. $25/qt. Used it on my running boards. Been a whole month, looks good so far. ;)
But I don't know that anything will exact;y peel right off later. It's all one more coat of paint. Cheap going on maybe.
I think I'd go with Manny's input- cheap paint, modicum of labor. Good for longer, rather than shorter time. Marine paint or Tractor/industrial paint rather than retail brands like rustoleum though.
Hey, Dodge didn't exactly use Imron with a four step process on their trucks either.
