I don't think I qualify as expert and you already ruled out my first thought on the matter, but I have a spare I will measure tomorrow ( I just cleaned up). I can't see how torque would open the clearance in the tracta and I can't imagine enough corrosion to affect the clearance, which means wear (unlikely) or that the factory tolerence just wasn't that tight to begin with. I just can't really see a little extra clearence in the tracta affecting the strength of the assembly, I would run it unless you have a new spare and then use the new one and keep the current shaft as a spare. Just out of curiousity what type of grease are you running? I was using a pretty good grease and had a wheel bearing rust pretty good bbfl suggested marine grease which I have in one side and then I used Green Grease from tractor supply on the other after it broke. I believe the right grease will help prevent corrosion even if a little water gets in but we will see the next time I have to tear down the front axle.
