Wristpins are not as hard to make as you might think. Certainly not "tens of millions of an inch", especially considering that such tolerances were unachievable in mass during the 40s. I can make them easily enough to size, then have them chromed and polished for the final size. Either way, that's not the point.

As far as putting new bushings in, that's exactly what I'm doing...only your scenario won't exactly pan out because the wrist pins are worn at the center. In order to machine the bushings to fit over the unworn ends, they will end up being loose when the reach the center. That's my whole problem. The piston-wrist pin connection is fine and unworn. I'm just looking for new wrist pins, that will solve all my problems.
