Dually question for Steve from NJ

I've been gathering parts to convert to rear duals. I have a pair of off-set wheels and Budd inner/outer nuts. I still figured that I needed a spacer between the wheels to provide clearance when using 9.00-16 tires, however a spacer would render the inner nuts too short. How did you overcome this? Are longer inner nuts available? Did you make your own spacers, how thick, what material? Any help will be greatly appreciated.....Randy
