I think the reason is the springs are so stiff that the stiffer sidewall of a bias ply truck tire actually has the stability to make the suspension move, whereas the radial tires weak side wall flexes rather than sending the energy into the spring. On cars it is usually an improvement to go radial but other than having to put up with the cold tire bounce in the morning I kinda prefer bias on the trucks.
