The data plate on my C-3 for maximum permissible road speed says
Transfer Case in high
1st - 8
2nd - 18
3rd - 32
4th - 55
It's the same one for a b-4 data plate I have. With 5.83 gears those are probably the top speeds allowed per gear without over reving the engine. For a truck with 4.89s it would be higher. I have 5.83's and have had the truck up to 55 (not crusing) but it's reving high. Keep your crusing at 2500rpm.
