Buy, borrow, or rent a compression gauge.Record the difference (if any) between each cylinder then check against the specs and tolerances.Fair compression with only small variances between cylinders would not cause this problem.
Don't forget about poor spark. It takes a larger and hotter spark at initial start up or cold weather.Poor spark could cause this problem so if it has points, check, clean and adjust or change them.Check coil, plugs and wires. After an engine gets up to operating temp. it requires less spark to ignites the manifold warmed fuel-air mixture as well as expands the piston and ring to give better compression to worn engines.
I guess a fuel supply problem would have to be it if compression and ignition are adequit.Spelling was never my strong point.
Hope this helps
