I played with it a bit, hoping it would drive with the T-case in neutral so I could use it as a PTO. No such luck, unsurprisingly. I think you're problem is going to be that the gear ratio is different from the lower driveline outputs, but you can easily experiment by simply turning the shafts by hand and seeing how far the other one turns. The M35s, by the way, use a similar E-brake, but on them the rear driveline comes right out of the E-brake just like you're thinking about doing. The T-case is entirely different inside, of course, and it has a provision for a PTO on the rear end of the main shaft.
