United Fence Company was the second owner. They bought it from a mining company I believe in 1954. The picture with the deer was taken in 1958. I bought it from United Fence in 1999 and sometime between 1958 and 1999 they painted it to it's current scheme. I would say the paint job was done much closer to 1958 than 1999, no restoration that i know of.
I ask the man at United Fence that I bought from what the racks on the driver's side were for. Mentioning to him that with lumber or what have you there, the driver could not get out on that side. He told me that the used to place a long plank there with a couple of men on it, drive down a fence row to remove old fence posts. With it on the driver's side, the driver could see the old fence really good while driving along it.
