Dad broke his hip today.

My 90 y.o.helper, Leo, is in the hospital. Pins and screws tomorrow afternoon.

Tripped on a poorly maintained gutter in the street. Wouldn't have happened if he let me drive him to the store in the Power Wagon. But a guy needs his independence.

Half a dozen people drove by without stopping, before a guy with some experience stopped, called 911, and me. Then a woman with kids stopped and brought out a couple blankets. People, the good and the bad.

Ah well, he's on morphine. I'm going to go have an ice cream.
