Mr. Copey, you are correct about the oil from different parts of the world being better suited for different things. My father worked for standard oil in the early fiftys in Whiting Ind. I've heard him say that they would have oil come in to be refined from pennsylvania that was good enough to use right out of the ground!!(filtered first of course) I believe those reserves were depleted and now are quite rare. pop said the natrually contained parrifin was what made it so good. parifin is the stuff that heats, cokes, and lays in the bottom of the oil pan as sludge.
