Axle ratio front to rear?

My 61 Townie Power Wagon has 4.09 front ratio and 4.10 rear ratio for the axles. So the front wheels are turning slightly faster for directional control on ice as the story goes.
Every other 4X4 I have has matching ratios.
Would I be loosing any advantage by swapping out my townie front axle to a matching ratio? I am thinking open hub with disc brakes.
