I had my surgery 17 months ago. Three months ago, I went in for two steroid shots because of continuing pain.

I would have to say the surgery kept me from getting worse. It did not necessarily make things better. I do not have excruciating pain like I did right before the surgery, but I have numbness, dull pain, and limited movement in my neck that makes it tough to get comfortable sleeping to this day.

Interesting because of the fused vertebrae at C6, and the still heriated disc at L5, my left foot (shifter) is half numb and painful, along with my right thumb, index and middle finger (throttle and brake).

I guess if you can function, live with it as long as you can. Technology is getting better. I could not live with the herniation in my neck.

And whatever you do - don't crash. We are not 18 anymore.
