I can see why archaeologists are shy about opening up old things, but it's not like they can x-ray the skeleton through an inch thick sheet of lead. They don't need to use any "force" to "break through" the lead. All they need is a small circular saw to slice it open. Besides, from the looks of it, it's already pretty well smashed.
