Not sure if you saw the post about 6 months ago, but there are at least three 1948 trucks around the country with these odd style lock rings. These Budd rims (center part)themselves appear to be the same.
I have not broken one down yet but Clint just - sort of- volunteered to do it at the Iowa rally!!!!
