In rebuilding my 1967 WM300 I pulled both of the differentials. The rear is getting a centered rear axle and the front needed a thourough inspection and a new pinion seal.

The front differential looks near new. Many of the parts still show factory primer. The ring gear is stamped "1392276 5.83-1 DCPD MS 3466 J15 66". I assume 66 is the year of manufacture of this original ring gear.

The rear diff shows some wear. The internal carrier housing has the half-moon wear marks that you see on alot of these units. The ring gear is stamped "00736 1392837 5.83 Formate Made in USA 71". I assume 71 is the date of manufacture, and the unit was rebuilt at some point with this aftermarket ring and pinion. This one will be rebuilt again with a Lock-Rite.
