I learned a few things. Namely that the newer gasoline is more volatile and expands from heat, over powers the float and spills into the engine. The recommended procedure is to crank the engine 3-7 seconds to clear the cylinders and then gently press on the accelerator to start.

I had a great conversation with the carb shop owner and wish I could afford the $1100.00 he charges to rebuild the carb! ( includes three seperate metal surface treatments to renew the finish) or the 125.00 for a hand made kit specific to your carb.

There may be nothing wrong with the carb only that the gas is heating up and spilling over.

I will post an update after I try the new starting method a few times.
