I agree I have one in my house close to the gas heater, water heater and wood stove. Right were it needs to be as that is the major possible source of CO.
What I do not understand are the combination smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors. I thought that they need to be placed at different levels. Smoke detectors should be as high as possible and I thought that carbon monoxide detectors need to be near the floor. I just read that they should be a couple of feet above the floor.
